Howdy folks, First time poster here, so please excuse me if I make any issues regarding my posting. (If I goof anything up just let me know) I've creeped on enough threads on here to get an idea of how the format should genuinely be set up, I think! You can see my past works…
I'm trying to create a script to divide selected spline segments once, but am having troubles using subdivideSegment (since splineOps.divide doesn't let you specify the number of segments). It requires the spline index to be specified, however since I'll only have the segment selected it needs to be derived from that, and…
While I also think sets are the road to Valve's heart, I didn't think getting things accepted by Valve was the main idea behind the thread. I thought the point was to learn and help others learn in a fun way and if something get accepted by Valve it's just an extra bonus. With that said, I do have an idea of a way we can…
Here's some more updates that makes me think it is a UV padding issue: Here's the subject prop, a barrel: I packed the lightmap UVs manually in Blender, to get something packed really tight: I set it to Preserve UVs and baked, bad lines on seams: Taking a look at the lightmap I see this: Not only does Unity repack my…
Glad to hear you guys are diggin the tutorials! Let me know if you have any questions and ill do my best to answer them! The next breakdown is of the gargoyle at the base of the stairs. It was done 100% in Zbrush. It was my first real attempt at zsketching out a more complex shape. In all honesty it kicked my ass. When I…
I know this subject has been up before, and I am yet to see any real solution to it. Usually this pops up as a problem with mirrored UV's and normal maps, but the issue seem to run much deeper. There's a huge error in how tangents(?) are being calculated that messes up mainly the light bakes but also the dynamic specular…
I gotta agree, I'm a bit surprised about those picks. Don't get me wrong, all of these sets are fucking amazing and deserve to be in the game asap, but as somebody mentioned, there's only one more winner slot left and so many awesome sets that just won't win at all. Personally I would have expected to have the Rider of the…
Am I doing things wrong? How do Environmental artists take references art of a scene or concept and create a 3D scene of it and it's nearly identical? I know pracitce and skill are huge parts to this but is there some kind of technique that they use to set up the scene with the right angle?
You can drag and drop to the high and low slots (or any other position in the scene list). Drag to just below and slightly to the right of either, you'll see a little green highlight that shows you where the object will be dropped. If you have multiple objects/bake groups, you can use the quick loader with naming…
@Necrodark So after a lot of experimenting and test bakes, this is what I came up with. It's probably not the best way to do things, but it's the best I could come up with from my very limited experience lighting in Unreal. . . First off this guy has a great volumetric fog presentation if you haven't seen it…
