Could you tell me which file format you're using? If obj, could you try FBX, and vice versa? Also if you could upload a test file for us to debug that would be helpful as well. Thanks
So, regarding exporting OBJs/FBXs of the high poly meshes from Zbrush: what do I do to make sure the specific subtool I'm trying to export gets exported with the appropriate name I gave it IN Zbrush?
you can just export the highpoly elements separately in 3 different obj files then use xnormals "bake base texture" feature. in options check object ID and it will create a map with random colors assigned to each mesh.
Thanks for the feedback Commander. I agree they should have been softer esp. since that was the focal point of the obj. (ill fix it or it will drive me nutz) btw couldn't find any refrence images on that one hope it was close.
Ok guys so a quick update. I exported the mesh as an obj and imported it back into max and now skin seems to be working fine. Seems my thought about it being something to do with the model was right after all.
Heres the sdk for the dominatrix, sorry it took so long for me to post it =) ill post an obj file too later for people who cant load .max or .ase http://www.planetquake.com/polycount/cottages/crash/earthquake/Dom_SDK.zip
I had the same problem once, and I can't remember for the life of me what i did...I think reset x form, as they mentioned, and also collapse it down completely and make sure you export as an obj.
yeah it worked... only problem now is that max keeps "max is not responding blaaaaaaaargh" whenever i try to import any .obj files i've exported from zbrush, no matter which sub d level i'm working with.
I have very old card (radeon hd 6700), and always have visible seams on my normals(baking in Marmoset). Can i get rid of this problem if i use newer card? Can mesh format affect seams too? Is it preferabale to use OBJ's or FBX?
Hi, Whenever i choose to use FBX (as in your mesh preperation Video) its offset in DDO. It no longer is at 0,0,0 but somewhat offaxis, anyone has the same experience ? OBJ works btw. and tested FBX 2013/14/15/16
