Oh my sorry for the late reply. Heres a mini-tut for 3ds max that can be done in maya. It basically creates a "shell" outside of the mesh and the faces are flipped inwards with the material you want your outline to have. Not really for real-time rendering stuff since it doubles polycount but it works great for presentation!

To be honest, after reading through the GA thread names on the 3D WIP forum (I went about 5 pages or so deep), I would say on average they have named their threads way better. I figured it would be worse over there, but Polycount looks like it's still the king of "another" threads.

New to Polycount. Semi- Experienced 3D modeler. Some stuff I've done for a now dropped Halo based mod for Star Wars Battlefront 2. The edge flow on some of them is horrendous looking back at them. UVs were never finished. Someday maybe I'll go back and finish them.
Thanks for the reply. i was trying to keep the polycount low so i didn't think long tris like this would be a problem, I'll go back in and add some more geometry. As for previewing it in the viewport would you suggest using Xoliul's 3DS Max Viewport Shader to view my lowpoly models?
that looks realy nice, cool design i think 1786 faces is a more reasonable number than 3500 since the game counts tris not quads, and im pretty sure youre counting quads (if its like 3ds) so the polycount will be much higher in game. im looking forward to seeiing this textured
