Well, what resolution are you planning to export at? Those artifacts can be ignored if your intended resolution is fine. What's causing it is the mipmapping at the UV island edges, pre texture bleed.
Yeah, they intended to show that his son was just named after him. I'm just saying, I totally call it as him actually being his son. Just a shot in the dark

Well, dont give up on the quad thing liquidmetal. Just stick this aside as a model intended to be subdivided or smoothed, and dont worry about quads so much with a game spec model.
@ Pior : If I remember well, there is no mod that can get the 360 zone free so the mod is intended for piracy (correct me if I'm wrong, my info could be really outdated)

Work in progress. Looking for c&c in all aspects. Texture is obviously very primitive, I am currently working hard to improve my texturing skills. I haven't taken this into Zbrush at all yet but had originally intended to do so.
