The blockout of the stagecoach is almost finished. I am going to add more bevel and curves, then is ready to go for sculpting. (the fun part) Also, I tried to add more dust and mud on the iron area of the barrel.
so far so good, though i feel like blockout doesn't quite match up with proportions of the environment, that ring in middle seems to be quite a bit wider in terms of radius and chains appear thicker?
so i guess the next big thing to improve the workflow would be the abaility to select the hardedges in between smoothinggroups to apply edgeweights. This way you could do the blockout with smoothingroups and then go in and define different weights.
Ok, here's a blockout i did over lunch. going to bring it all into zbrush tonight. Preferences? I'm still not sure which one i like more, i might just make both.
I have a brief to recreate a room in unreal engine, I chose the bathroom from crimson peak (quick moodboard): And I just started a quick blockout in maya here's where I'm at so far:
You can use Nightshade Blockout if you are working with Maya - see my signature. EDIT: Then for the rendered map, you can use my color splitter script in Photoshop: http://www.martin.dahlin.net/downloads/NS_color_splitter.zip
The meshes are my prototype pieces... I use those to block out the space and then modeled the building pieces from the exported blockout. The screenshots are from within unreal. Thanks for the kind words, I'll keep going! :)
I want to do a bit of a walkthrought of my progress of this big project I want to work with I started this weekend. My idea is to have a tavern in the woods and I have the basic blockout of the house and I am figuring out how to make the walls. I thought of having all in one trimsheet but Im afraid if this would lower the…
Update: Worked more on defining the model and getting it out of a blockout stage. I also began working on a trim sheet for this model, still workshopping this and figuring out exactly what I need, so I have left some empty space. If anyone has any thoughts or feedback I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks:)
Hi, nice blockout ! I really like the idea of the hidden buildings under the rocks in the second variant, it creates an iteresting focus point that makes us curious about the village history.
