Substance Designer - Normal map slope bug?
Hi there! I haven't found a solution to this but I was wondering if anyone happens to know what is causing this issue? I am currently following a tutorial and for some reason when I RGBA split the gradient Linear map and shove that into normal it creates this weird normal effect. It should be coming out as a smooth slope.… -

The pink one looks better IMO. You need to speed it up and make the animation less linear also cause right now you really feel the "linear animation on a spline". -

Sorry if this is common, but why is it not possible to undo a "linear" UV spline, once you use linear it wont undo that task but just jump straight to any other task commited before? -

0.04 is the linear space value. Don't know about the diffuse one. I think it's safe to assume that it's pre-gamma-correction, since generally PBR works/looks best in a linear color space. -

The base movement is not bad, it just depends on what your going for. The movement seems very linear/robotic like. You might want to add some more smoothing. Be shure that you load your metallic and roughnes textures with linear gamma. Turn of sRGB on every Metallic/Roughness texture in UE4 and set texture sampler type for that textures as Linear Color Hope it's help -

Yes! That was the problem, the DDS compression type, that gray style is BC5 (linear, signed). Thanks to the preview view in Paint.net, exporting a .png to .dds, I've been able to found it easily, looking for a preview similiar to the original grey looking norm.dds. before you can use hdr images you need to understand what a linear work flow is and how to use it. there are many tutorials on google. the maya documentation show you how to set up linear work flow in maya.
