My current method is: 1. Create unique "blockout" cubes for each unique mesh in the scene. - At this stage be mindful of where you place the pivot for each cube. - If you are using UDK this is where you export your "blockout" cubes to UDK with proper names and set up your package. 2. Instance the different cubes to…
Hey that is looking way better. The head is defiantly more interesting. I see the teeth are block solid atm. They still look really neat though. If you make them individual, try to make them the same size/direction as on the blockout teeth. You could even place the teeth into the blockout teeth and then remove the blockout.
LET MY NAME ENVELOP YOU. SEEK NO SHELTER FROM THE FLAME OR THE TEETH OF THE BEAST. CLOAK YOURSELF IN THE FIRE OF MY WORD AND CAST BACK TO YOUR ENEMIES THAT WHICH WOULD BLACKEN YOUR FORM. This is a process thread for my current project, the manticore mecha from the tabletop rpg LANCER. Current status: Based on the designs…
We made a photobash to get an idea of where we wanted to go, along with a quick mockup in maya. Right now the main focus will be to shift the weight of the room around, thinking about size of details/props and try to lead the eye towards the throne. The blockout will be heavily modified in the upcoming days. After this…
Thanks. I thought it would be better to get the in-Engine blockout done first for the very same reason, but then again I was just guessing xD. Glad to know that I was right to some extent. :poly101: Btw can anyone point me to a video or a tutorial of an in-Engine blockout. I am following these CryEngine3 tuts from eat 3D…
I'm not much of a 2D artist but I took some time out to make a quick rough-sketch and VERY blocky-blockalicious-blockout of the concept for the Personal Aircraft I am working on :) I might paint over the blockout just to get an even better idea of what I want, but I'm not certain. And just to reiterte one time, the…
Thanks for heads up. I appreciate the references. The main road with side walks was one of the pieces originally planned. I wanted to have wider central path with smaller sidewalks on its sides. I found photos of small european town for inspiration. As well as Old Shambles. My main idea was to have a central road for the…
Dude, sorry to be a harsh critic here.. but I can't believe you went ahead and made a highpoly for this, even though your blockout was completely off in the first place. I mean, do you even use photos as blueprints for this? My advice to you is to take a step back and focus solely on making a proper blockout for this. With…
Started modeling the desk which will be in the X14 clone room. Our concept artist mocked up a sketch for me and provided some reference images, we built a block out together. Our Art Director decided that we should ditch the neo-futurism and lean more towards brutalism instead, with a splash of retro-futurism, according to…
