Ouch, been working through all this new stuff for awhile. Having progress but it's comin hard. To start this is the first time i've used any of these programs, first time I've messed with AO maps, and first time I've finished a vehicle (I started this as a low poly truck awhile back and never got far...) Anyway, I hope you…

I think if you wanted to get it to look more like a man wearing a mask you should probably have modeled a human head first. Then put the mask on him. That way it will actually look like the mask has something inside it. I would also watch your topology/edge flow. What you currently have is not going to help the shape of…
You could have the ground material on one layer and the water material on the other and use the height of your ground as mask and play with the levels on that mask. It would be completely non destructive, update the height, your mask is updated. By default, height is in additive mode but you can change the blending mode to…

3D coat seems to have a similar awkward and non standard UI for sculpting but looks powerful Seems like 3D coat is the only other PC software outside zbrush to have real 3D sculpting which is not just polygon pushing 3D coat is great if you want to create quick masks for texturing. The baseline wear masks you make are much…
Hi Polycount! intro: I've been a longtime lurker on Polycount, but haven't ever posted my stuff. I'd like to change that, as I've got a topic i'd love to discuss with the broader game artist community: Color ID maps (#colorID maps)- why they're possible in other programs such as substance Painter, but not feasible in UE4…
