for weapons, I find the very best resource is auction websites. they take such detailed, huge photos in many angles showing all the parts. some even talk about the function. I haven't tried auction sites for other things, but I imagine there are many types of objects to be found on such sites.
Hey I remember evillair used to come around here. I'm trying to get into q3 mapping and went looking for some texture packs to download, went to his site but saw that it was hacked: http://evillair.net/ That sucks big time, anyone know him or works with him that could contact him about getting his site back up? Thanks!
www.garcellano.com Hi everyone, I've been on the polycount forum for quite a while, but I'm still pretty new to the site. I'd like to have some constructive feedback on my 3D portfolio site and my work. Any recommendations would be great. I use mainly Maya and I'm currently focusing on more Environment/Prop Art. Thanks,…
Hey guys, Just started working on making up my portfolio site, It's mainly got work I've done in the last year in it, with a focus on prop/environment stuff. Does the site itself work? I was thinking of adding a bit of 'click for more' text on the images, but i'm not sure if its needed or not. http://www.mystichobo.com/…
the creature you did in sculptris is pretty cool. If you are just starting to learn 3d, I would suggest to load up on tons of tutorials. Follow them to completion, its the fastest way to learn. there are several sites out there that offer training materials including this very site. http://wiki.polycount.com/
I agree it would be too long to put in a reel. BUT it depends on how you structure your site and your reel. If you put up longer more in depth animations on your site and then for your reel, boil down smaller clips that feature the best parts, it can be a good combo.
Awesome stuff buddy! Love it! (Do you know if you upload your image onto the site called "Imgur", than you can link the image from there and it will appear properly. I had similar problems and it's just nicer to see the full image on the site rather than a thumbnail.)
Hi, How are you? My questions 1) THIS CONTEST IS OPEN ONLY TO CURRENT VALID MEMBERS OF LEAGUEOFLEGENDS.COM AND/OR ITS RELATED LOCAL SITES (THE SITE) Please review Post #14: http://www.polycount.com/forum/showpost.php?p=2153883&postcount=14 2) Latin American participants are eligible? Yes.
Thanks, based my new site off Hazardous's site. Still a few spaces to fill, but I think it's a lot better than the old clumped up together portfolio. New: www.liamshaw3d.com (ctrl+f5 if old one still loads in your cache) Old: www.liamshaw3d.com/index3.html
Your site is incredible slow for me. I'm in the EU but i'm on a 100/100 line. That image of the truck tok 15 seconds to load if not more. And the site is just insane. Just wanted to let you know :) [EDIT] Saw your stuff now.. Looks super dude! Congrats on a release! :)
