Yeah Bartalon, in orthographic views i am not able to move the joints when in edit pivot(insert key) mode, using Maya 2015. While pressing W i can move joints but when i switch to edit pivot mode the transformation locks up, i cannot move the joints. Trying to learn rigging :).
Thanks for the reply cyrid, I figured it out, as noted on Zbrush website "Note: For Surface Noise to show you must have Quick 3D Edit turned ON in the Transform palette. Also note that if your model is very large the noise may not show or will display in patches." I scaled down the model and it worked perfectly. Cheers,

I totally agree about the transformation - I just removed the plating from the True Form as the "magically appearing" plates were not sitting well with me either (gotta trust the gut feeling !) Does Max bake animation down to the component level? The separate pieces you are exploding should be under their own transforms instead of the same one, so you can modify each piece individually and still use the same animation. You can export it as one object anyway so it's better to leave it separate in the scene.
As I've said it on CGSociety, I don't think the Vicon system is a good choice. It basically gives you 3D transform data and you're left to write or buy a solver that can interpret it to drive a proper face rig; or you can try to use some direct remapping, but that will seriously limit the quality of your facial…
