this is a solid piece and i like your target you have set to make the same asset in 3 different styles that is a strong skill to shown that you can execute a wide variety of art styles.
Ok first crit. Perspective screengrabs please :) Edges are generally looking pretty clean. It'll be highly beneficial to get a cubemap onto these asap to see how it reacts with the surfaces. What is the target platform?
Getting an internship is a real struggle in my area, to be honest. There are some studios sprinkled over Florida but it seems like internship opportunities are very rare or targeted at grad students. Will likely be moving after graduation.
Get a sample game running in your target engine and look at the stats. That should be a good starting point. UDK comes with samples on those platforms, so does Unity Pro not sure about others.
the enthusiast market is just no market, so why put money in a feature 90% (or more) of your target audience will never enjoy? or will enthusiasts pay much more per game to make up for the developmentcosts?
@throttleKitty I got the problem fixed my friend. I had to unwrap the target mesh. Go figure. Now I'm having the problem of baked texture being lighter than the original texture.
Your target tris should be closer to 10,000, and even higher if you can like 20,000 tris. If this is a personal project, push more triangles, unless this is meant for mobile or a really low-spec game.
Yeah, depending on how your worlds, models, effects were set up, 2 weeks will not be nearly enough for significant optimizations. You need to plan for target platforms at a way earlier stage of development.. ;-)
@Sonny thats a cool character rig! Is it available to download somewhere? It would be kind of cool if he was swimming to the target or move in a shark-like motion! @kee were you inspired by Donnie Yen?! hehehe
Update: Blender 2.5 Alpha 0 is available for download. It doesn't have all the 2.49b features integrated yet and there are plenty of 2.5 targets not realised in it yet, but this is nonetheless a good opportunity to try Blender 2.5.
