wooooooah no, people gotta stop quoting the UDK docs they are really outdated. The defualt setting for UDK now is 1:1 with max, so 1 udk unit = 1 max unit = 1cm Now the old scale that gsokol posted is still correct but you have to switch to DeathMatch in the world properties > default game type. -

you need to enable either depth map shadows or raytrace shadows from the light attributes. depth maps shadows show up in default, high quality and viewport 2.0 ray trace only show up in defaulot and high quality only software/mental ray render should show all shadow types. -
