The Stealth/Cloak Snipers are frustrating :( Aparently I ran out of bandages. I'm gonna have to read up all the purchase stuff as I'm not sure how it all works and I haven't even looked at the store yet.
The faces look like projections on a screen, to me. Like Kain's face in Robocop 2. The hero's face was constantly lit, but Bridges' "avatar" was cloaked/black right up until the last moment. Looks good. Want more.
Yeah, now they have banshees that complete rip ground units to shreds more than any SC 1 unit (besides BC's Y cannon (and have cloak)), and vikings which are great AA vs everything but muta.
I posted that two pages back, I think. I'm beginning to suspect no one reads my posts because they're too long, or I have accidentally enabled a cloaking device in my web browser :p
The main issue I'm seeing is that the folds and drapes all run horizontally, as if it were a bed sheet wrapped tightly around the character. Generally for a cloak the drapes run vertically, because the points of tension are mostly up on the head and shoulders.
DAY 5 Changed the kneepads and armplates ( at least three times XD ). Added the hands and cloak. I'll try to finish the base tomorrow, then start the details, so if anyone has something to say about the shapes, please tell me ^^.
That robo-cloak :). I agree with AimBiz's points on the last environment - It feels like there's two, even three points in the scene where my eyes are drawn to, and there's a kind of strange symmetry in the size/shape of the floating rocks and the lighter area in the background.
I think he is unhappy do to his short stature. Really like the model, but for some reason the writing on his cloak thingies isn't bright enough. I feel like there should be more of a division between the red and gold.
Yes, use trigger volumes. It will not be a problem for the materials unless you want to have the static mesh still be there collision-wise and you just make the material disapear (think Star-Trek cloaking), in that case, you make a new material.
I am kind of stuck with the cloak right now and I might need some help to model it with the base pose of my character. For now I have this blocking, but I am not sure if I am going in the right direction.
