I don't think it works with psd's, actually you need and addon just to display multiple layers.Once you do have that you can paint / project on spec, diffuse etc and it saves the layers which i guess you have to import them manually in your psd.…
Anything from PS7 onwards I've found painfully slow for all of 1 feature. Heal Tool. Nothing in there would I find remotely good that deserves slowness. Fans arent going to give it enough power(those smnall 4 pin connectors). Your supposed to use the PCI Express connectors frrom the psu, its the only way you can rely that the card is getting enough power(as long as its a decent psu, which yours is) I wouldnt worry about the converter/adapter, its just junk.
