Split the rings first so you have two centre loops to base the offset edge loop tool on. That way, both new loops will be relative to a centre edge and properly spaced. The rules are slightly different, or were in Pride before the buyout. Aggression is encouraged and the fighters actually loose pay for standing off from each other. Also the square ring encourages less dancing (Werdum) and assists fighters 'cornering' less aggressive opponents. The take downs are also more carefully… -

Perhaps having the geometry intersect is the way to go. On the car's main body door frame area you could model a cavity for the door's outer panel to fit into when it pivots. Or Maybe pull the frame out a little bit and push the bulky part of the door forward a little bit. Or use longer hinges. It's probably ok to fudge… -
