From what I gather you wanted to "copy" certain faces of a model with ctrl+c/ctrl+v? I'd advice against this workflow in Maya. There's a menu option called Duplicate Faces which you could use instead. Could be the power supply. Either it doesn't have enough wattage or its starting to die. Try unplugging anything unnecessary, other hard drives, DVD drive etc... and see if that changes anything. I've tried exporting the object and applying the vertex colors again in a new scene. Looks like there was an error with that particular scene and it wouldn't apply the vertex colors properly. Not really sure why it caused it though. Thanks ! -
