I got a toshiba 37'' i use it to watch tv and recently tried to hook up my 360 to it. The thing is i have one of the older 360 without the hdmi inputs wich sucks ( im not sure if theres and adapter for it or anything so if there is throw up a link). So I cant use my hdmi cable for it. basically the tv goes up to 720p but…
Im trying to create two shaders and adding them to to the "Assign favorite material" list in maya. Getting tired of Mayas aweful shader editor, theese shaders would be so easy to do in UDK. So Im hoping some kind soul could help me out or point me in a good direction. First shader: Blinn with textures preassigned. Example:…
I thought from this Nvidia writeup, a engine creator could use the OUTPUT red and Blue channel to contain more vector information that the OUTPUT green channel missed. I am not having any confusions about the swizzle of red and blue in the original file to green and alpha in the output dds. As in like the blue or red…
Hey Zott, so looking at the concept and your renders, a few things stick out to me. There's a lot of blank space along the slide and handle. Maybe add some more cuts into the front of the slide and add some kind of branding to the handle. The handle itself looks rather blocky, and I think the rear of it could be smoothed…
Well, if you just need one channel of data (a grayscale image) then you would probably want to use BC1 texture compression (DXT1). This is a lossy format, it adds errors when it compresses the file size. Because of the way BC1 is compressed, you get less errors in the image if you use just 1 channel and blank out the other…
This is a misleading comment, overlaying chunks might mess up the baking process and should be avoided at bake times. What you CAN do is shrink the UVs of anything that'll be doubly overlaid on another piece, and shove them in any corner of blank space just to have them out of the way. Once the bake is done, scale those UV…
Hi! For the VFX part of the competition I've read the rules here: http://polycount.com/discussion/193132/vfx-guidelines but I had three questions I just wanted to confirm the answers to! 1.) If I am creating a Hextech Xayah ultimate may I lift the attacking orb into the air as long as it stays within the static camera FOV?…
Some most obvious "did you....?" from someone who's been banging his head on normal maps baking for the last few months: .- did you export high and low in the same format? OBJs and FBXs seem to export with different scales and axis directions (at least in Blender) -. did you make low-polys by ZRemesh-ing in ZBrush or by…
Hey. Thanks for the reply. 1. Glad to see these changes being made. You think the new update might come out within the next few months? Lots of changes I'm looking forward too. 2. The scene I'm using is definitely made during the latest version. From what I can tell the tangent space appears blank every time I relaunch the…
So I have dabbled with Zbrush a few time over the years, but finally decided to make the jump from Mudbox to Zbrush. Got a bunch of stuff to learn yet. Anyway so at the moment I am trying to customize Zbrush to my personal preference. I have done changes to the UI so they make more sense to my Maya/Mudbox experience. Now…
