I use 2008, so i hope this is still relevant... or actually not, hopefully this stuff is already fixed ;) . -Overall the program is just bloated by functionality that isn't really necessary, or doesn't feel relevent to what you're doing at the time. There are plenty of buttons that if i think hard i could kinda see how it…
Hey! My name is André Felipe (21yrs old), I'm a Jr. Environment Artist based in Brazil and this is one of my first few posts here in polycount. Sorry for the long intro, it's all context, feel free to skip to the questions. I've been interested in living and working as a game dev in Canada for most of my life, the culture…
Hi, I saw some people have posted some art related items here for sale so I hope it's ok if I do the same. I live in LA, so artists in the area would be easier to sell to. The tablet new is worth $1,000 plus taxes and the cost of the dock ($130). Price is negotiable. pics here:…
Hey Polycount, so Ive seen that comments and critiques are sometimes unevenly clumped on this forum so I made a graph to show how I feel they are distributed among threads. This is mostly for the Pimping & Preview section. I know this type of thing has possibly been made before but I decided to make my own take on it and…
Hey guys, so I've been working on a project and did the classic Zbrush Normal Map baking workflow. I've tried the GoZ and manualy exporting and connecting the normal map, and 1) it shows some weird ring like artifacts in areas that should be smooth, I know there are issues on the dented bits, but the same map kind of works…

The progress so far! Still got a little work to do on the hands, i have a ref on they type of mechanics i'm going to use but the thumb just isn't playing nice so i'm going to try and figure that one out. Do robot thumbs always look strange? That a thing? But other than that he is pretty much done. I also made an IMM to…
Update. I'm trying to give the scene a bit more of an atmosphere. The village has long since been abandoned so i wanted to give it an empty, ghost-town type feel to it. I also got the sky-texture in. The level is now completely playable, there is still a bit of terrain painting and a few spots that need to be touched up…
This is awesome! There isn't really much to say about the guy. I think the eyeballs could look a little more "attached" in the sockets, right now they look as tho there's a gap between the lids and cornea. Maybe the shadow is a little too dark there or something, rather than it looking like translucent skin. It'd be cool…
