Hi guys, I have a problem that is driving me crazy. Let's start from the beginning: I am new to modelling, baking and all this stuff, but I am learning fast! So, I have modelled a gun in blender for a project of mine. I have come to the point of baking but everything I try is not working. I used both Substance Painter and…
Hello Im seaching for a good tutorial to make custom players for quake 3 arena using max 9. I have searched in google but almost all the webs are down. I have find some info and some soft to export meshs but nothing more. Thanks.
Well basicly we've got a mobile game (a shooter where player can't move, he can just look around) that doesn't support any specular especially so complex as in your shader (and maybe no lighting at all) i done weapon model with texures (Diffuse, Tangent Space Normal Maps, Gloss, Spec) and i just want to bake it to diffuse…
(that's Blender by the way, aww yeahhh) I'm never good at this, I've read up on it plenty; I've found it's best to bevel where I can afford to add faces, to triangulate my low poly mesh before baking, make sure faces on each mesh aren't too far away from eachother (I actually have some of this happening here so I know I…
Yeah by eye is a good start. But to further proliferate on what Paul has said, take the example of a watch and its strap around a hand. Model the watch as is, but then of course you don't really know exactly how the strap should go. So make an instanced copy, and rotate that version into place. You can then work on a…

Hello all, so I recently joined the the Voynich Manuscript contest for mixamo for experience, and one of the few things I learned is sculpting military boot/shoes and creating shoelaces is harder then it looks, (way harder :( ) here is my final boot so I would like to better at this and so to all the great and awesome…
I've been pondering lately on how to make a 3D plant grow. I know a bit of animations, I could have the verteces that I'll need for the completed plant crumbled up somewhere inside the model of the smaller plant, but that would still give me texture problems as I want to have the colour of leaves change etc. What method…
Ok, I know this has been posted a few times before, and I really did try and use the search feature before I posted but I could not find previous posts on this subject. Anyhow ... Tomorrow I am being assigned to work on a Maya project. I have minimal past experience with Maya. Any tips or advice from those of you who have…
If you need the detail, personally I'd say make them take up more space. Or accept the lack of detail. The bake can only include what the pixels can display, after all.
