Thank you Paololazatin for the feedback. I've taken heavy influence from the dota2 workshop guides and tried to incorporate that into my texturing process. Also texturing is my weakest area, so it's something that I still need to concentrate more on. I definitely did not want it to seem that I rushed it. I'll continue to…
Hello @M1KC, I made it during a 3 months workshop, so I spent about 3~4h/day working 5 days/week. For the textures I handpainted it on zbrush and tweaked them on Photoshop. @PYRZERN Yes I have, I'll copy the links here. Thanks dude! Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/raphael.perroni.5…
As a design this looks great! I'd like it a lot more if it were just called Atomics. I see where you're going with 'penetrator' but it seems unnecessary. It buys into the seedy side of competitive gaming - the boys' club aspect. I don't think you need a cheap hook like that to make this appealing. Anyway, love your…
@Axi5 are you sure? In any case, all companies(Ubisoft,Wargaming etc) have a similar document (I do not remember the name) and everything is described in detail 1.Modelling 2.Texturing something similar(about brevity I already gave an example)…
Second the small base idea - think along the lines of Games Workshop miniatures imo. also i think the lighting could be better - i dont know marmoset but is it just a default setup? looks quite flat imo. i'd have a search for 3 point lighting techniques from photography and see if you can't get some more interest in the…
Right Side Left Side I've been cleaning up the mesh and blocking out the other main shapes. Its taking me a while, but I'm trying to be patient. Doing this workshop was a great idea. I'm learning alot! Anyone know of any really good ways to get a wireframe shot in Maya (besides screen capture)? As always, C&C is welcomed…
Tascha: haha thank you, yeah i have a horrible urge to go buy stripped pants, boots, and corsets :P Elfving: thank you! i'm trying to get better at sculpting hair so it's nice to hear i'm getting somewhere :D MGM: Thank you very much! :) another quick sketckbook sculpt between workshop and work :) for facial/hair practice:
Hi, I'm new to working with shaders in max and could use a little help. I'm trying to follow Andrew Smiths DOTA2 workshop tutorial and have hit a snag. when I try and down load the fx shader file for max, all I get is a new window with some code. is that normal? do I need to save that code and copy it in max someplace?
Stalker8272, Phyrexis, zhixson thanks guys for your kind words. Unfortunately, i had no time to finish it until the contest deadline, lots of tasks at my current job. But i like how it goes and ill definitely finish it later and put to the workshop. Here is what i got now, only painted highpoly model, retop for these…
Get rid of the tail, it looks stupid. Plus its not possible to add movement to it since you need jigglebones which aren't part of Doom's weapon. As for the texture it looks like you just overlayed a rust texture onto the orange blade. Dota items use a lot of hand painted textures. Check out Valve's texture guides:…
