FAQ.(HARD SURFACE)
Simple question.
I saw this topic.
why not make a document in PDF format that will answer complex questions?
Is it difficult? (those who have already worked)
in any case, they must be corrected.
Why you do not have a library errors and solutions?
you just need to collect errors and their solution.

Sure, get it started. That's the way I started learning real-time 3D

Hard Surfacing is a technique per se; there are many tutorials on the subject.  Remember Maya, Modo, Max Blender have similar tools; it's learning the tools. Reminds me I haven't begun learning Modo as of yet  :(

Let's not start a new thread to fill with problems seeking solutions. We have that already, you've linked to it.

If you want other people to provide solutions, there are plenty of resources (including that thread!) where you can find and collect solutions yourself.

If you want to create a document, go ahead, get started!

Please also see the links on our wiki.
    http://wiki.polycount.com/wiki/Subdivision_Surface_Modeling

But if you have one particular modeling question, then please ask it over there.

Why are you trying to find more? What didn't you find in all these resources?

I try to make the document as useful to all as possible.
    (weapons&vehicle artist,character artist)
and for those who do not know the solution.
In different objects there can be their own difficulties.
knowing the solution you can avoid making mistakes.

    and

I will try to include in the document.
    1. foundations hard surface(in general)
    2. Ways to create some details (in general)
    3. Solving the Smoothing Errors

that's what I'm trying to do.
Rule # 1: Frequently asked questions should be short and limited
Rule # 2: Frequently asked questions should be regularly maintained.
Rule # 3: Make sure that the answer correctly solves the issue.
Rule # 4: Organize your frequently asked questions so they can be easily found.
Rule # 5: make sure that all information on the frequently asked questions page is accurate and up-to-date.
Rule number 6: Do not shy away from including complex questions.
Rule # 7: Your frequently asked questions should cover general issues for everyone, but every single visitor should be able to easily find their own problems.
Rule # 8: Make sure that visitors can quickly find or go to the correct answer.
    and update (if necessary).

Rule # 1: Frequently asked questions should be short and limited

Unfortunately due to the many infinite ways of things going wrong while modeling & more, any attempt to create a short and concise FAQ will be in vain. This goes hand in hand with:

Rule # 6: Do not shy away from including complex questions.

Hash mine. Since as you begin covering some complex examples you'll begin to realize there's no end of things to ask.

Rule # 7: Your frequently asked questions should cover general issues for everyone, but every single visitor should be able to easily find their own problems.
Rule # 8: Make sure that visitors can quickly find or go to the correct answer.

A FAQ format is also hard to navigate if you don't know the question you need to ask, a lot of people just ask "What's wrong?" and a FAQ makes those questions hard to answer.

I'm all for a FAQ that has all the answers to all the complex questions and yet is short and concise enough to navigate when you don't know what's wrong, but it's not very feasible.

    are you sure?
In any case, all companies(Ubisoft,Wargaming etc) have a similar document (I do not remember the name)
and everything is described in detail
    1.Modelling
    2.Texturing
    something similar(about brevity
    I already gave an example)
just in this case I'll try to do
    about hard surface

That's an art style direction guide. It's not a do's and don'ts on how to create assets and deal with problems along the way.

Nothing to be sorry about. I'm actually looking forward to a good resource like this.

You're encountering a fair amount of reticence only because we've seen this kind of thing before, but it usually leads nowhere, unfortunately.

This thread so far doesn't look promising. But we would love to be proven wrong. A clear concise reference on subd technique would be very valuable, to many artists.

I can give you a wiki account, if you would like to compile it there. Just let me know, send me a private message.

    Do not hurry.
it will take time. (unfortunately I can not do it quickly.
    because I'm learning.)
(I've never worked in the industry and I'm self-taught)

    here is a useful technique
1 how to make such a detail

2 Select the edges and use chamfer

3 Select the edges and use connect

    4 use turbosmooth 2 iterations
    5 done!

I hope you find it useful.
If you have any questions, ask
    if it's necessary
    I will add more images
    Good luck!
