UV tools are interesting and animators got a load of fun stuff. They redid the built in normal mapping tool and you can render to psd now. -

Yes, for me it's the complete opposite. 2016 is solid/stable and 2017 was not. 2018 hasn't had a service pack yet and is great for me so far. Although I've only just start using the official release as I'm on beta (like you and spcefrog) -

2016 is the one that got worse with Service Packs, memory leaks, and instability. There are a couple of Unwrap UVW bugs in 2017, but it's pretty stable overall. The unwrap bugs are 1. Select Overlapping Polygons is not working. 2. Peel Mode moves unselected UV elements. -

Re: Set current biped pose to figure pose?
There was a bug in Max, that would cause it to lose the figure pose. Make sure you install all the latest service packs. The only way to get the figure pose back is to open an old file save a fig file and load it in your latest file. -

There's a system for that already, actually. What I was thinking is to just make sure people give some % of the Service provider slider to Polycount. Seems reasonable enough to me, and it doesn't come out of the artists pocket at all. basically what kite said, yeah. -
