Hey guys so I wanted to test out a model with some animation, but I'm having a problem mirroring the weights, I've done it on the left side and ensured the model is symmetrical in world and object, as I've circled but when I try to mirror (no matter what combination of options I choose) it's just distorted and messed up as…
Hi all, Thanks for the replies. I shared some example textures: This is the albedo that contain the main texture: This the composite that gives reflection: And this the normal for relief: This is how looks the normal in GIMP: If i resize the textures to 1024 for example, the albedo and composite works well in the game, but…
Hey :) What's the end goal of this project? Do you use a reference board (like what kind of character, what body type, ideas for head and facial features, ...). I think this kind of target helps with making desicions and not running in circles - and getting more specific feedback too. I agree, having some 3d reference on…
Hi Y'all, Could someone let me know how to correct the bit of topology marked on the picture please? I'm shrink wrapping a flat plane onto a sphere to get this shape. I first sorted out the topology for a circle and then tried to attach the little piece below, however I'm not sure how to correctly set the new topology all…
Hey, I'd suggest maybe adding more polys to the curved part of the chair at the top (red lines) and rebaking. It also looks like a bake error where I've circled in red, but might not be an error, I can't really tell from this distance. I think if you put this model in a simple environment that was predominantly orange'ish,…
last one looks like a parking, quite cool. I love the lighting, especially in the last post. For now only ceiling metal beams look quite basic. There is no feeling of thickness in those circle holes. U could add some bevel effect around the holes not to make the beams look paper thin ;) Overall looks rather inspiring ;)
You have some huuuuge pixels on the fountain. I think you'd be off better by mapping only 1/8th of the circle and then tiling it around. The white lines on them also seem to vary in width and placement a bit - looks sloppy. edit - also, the final version definitely looks worse. Very brown bloom brown nextgen gritty ew.
most studios that I know of use Motion Builder, which comes with it's own rig basically. don't put all your talent points into rigging and making cute nurb circles in maya, put a couple into Python scripting as well, so that you can expand on for example motion builder rigs and make plugins for animators, like exporters…
I get a bit of a swore wrist after using a mouse for hours on end at work so it's definitely nice switching to a tablet. You get use to them really quickly, I couldn't live without one now. Just open up a blank canvas in Photoshop and sketch lots of lines and circles etc and it will begin to feel natural.
Dude, continue to move away! This is awesome! :D I like the pose without the tail wrapping. Tail wrapping is a cool idea, but I think it flows a lot better without. The way the eye travels it needs a direction (beginning and end) and I think the circle with the tail wrapped doesn't work as well. Love it though, the spit is…
