I didn't know that the size of the gizmo changed it's precision in Maya, thought it was just how close you zoomed in that changed the incremental change. Yar the wood reads as leather. One reason would be that the wood grain doesn't show up in the normal. This could happen if the wood was polished, but then the final material should appear way more glossy and have a strong specular. Another reason is the way it interacts with the metal "ribs" at the bottom of the handle.… -
