See image: Unity 5 These are individual instanced pieces. So the pillar for example that is one mesh stacked on top of a another mesh. And the roof panels....same thing, about 6 of those side by side to make up the roof. Instanced/cloned/duplicated...whatever you want to call it. All the meshes are pre-fabs and have…
It's partly based on the tower of hercules in northern spain. The original tower has no roof but a light house dome on top of it. But I want to keep the balcony on top rather open, I tried to put a tiled roof on top of the balcony but it looked silly and the tiles were also a pain to place and cut correctly. For now I put…
The slate roof isn't reading right for me. It's close but something seems off. The little gap in the middle of the shingle is meant to be touched by the edge of a shingle on top of it. Having the little gaps so exposed makes it look more like a brick variant than actual shingles. Here's a photo of a roof being shingled so…
Thanks for the nice comments everyone! SNAKE85027 The roof modules are similar to the wall modules in how they function. They connect to the top part of any wall (with a "connection module" and can be duplicated to create however tall or wide roofs you want. OLAHALDOR I don't think I'll be posting more modular breakdown…
It's nice, but I suggest taking a course in roofing to know how a tiled roof is made ^^. Currently those tiles are useless. The texturing could use another pass, it actually looks like a quick paintover. Don't hesitate to add some moss/grass at the base of the walls maybe ? Everything looks a bit too clean. And the threes…
I think this is a very good start! I would suggest adding more details to the roof, possibly refining where the satellite sits on the roof of the camper. One thing that I believe would make it easier to critique with is if you had completely mirrored the model like I assume you plan to. I think it just makes it easier to…
I've been a long time lurker on this site so I figured I would actually contribute and make a post. I've spent the last couple weeks doing some speed modeling challenges to test myself and now I'm going to start tackling an environment. I haven't decided if I want to use UDK or the Cry Engine but I'm leaning towards the…
Hey everyone, here is my latest and greatest! Hopefully everyone finds it fun to watch since it was fun to create! Thanks! Everything was made with Unreal 4, Substance Painter, 3D Studio Max, and Photoshop Here is the link to the video- https://vimeo.com/189031466 Thanks everyone! Dan LaDuca…
Most of the tris are coming from the edges of the roof and the supports under it. I originally tried making the roof all as one flat piece, but it looked flimsy, so I added the trim around the edges make it look thicker and hide the switch between the shingles and the boards underneath. It looks better, but it took a big…
Finally got some time to add some details (very busy atm with work) I didnt jump right away to the detailing of the side, I took car of adding certain elements needed (windows) and some details on the little roof. I think I will start detailing the big objetcs first (wood planks, stairs) then jump to the detailing of the…
