Alright guys I know this may have been asked many times before but I am looking for specific medium for sketchbooks. Anything that is relevant to this sold in Toronto. EDIT: Also; If you can; Do tell what sort of sketching papers / sketchbooks the professional comic artists use (Not the Bristol.) EDIT2: I'd appreciate if…
@Blond - started off aged about 11 copying comic strips from '2000 ad' using a fountain pen. I used to fill whole rolls of wallpaper lining paper with these. But 3d started back in about 1996 or so using a free 3d program called Imagine:) I had been an airbrush artist prior to that for about 7 years.
Cool! reminds me of Midnight Nation a little, tho I'm sure won't go down the same road the comic went :) Love the concept of a cop waking up after being victim of a crime and having to solve it. Midnight Nation deals more with the "why am I dead?" with the detective bits, and this is more "who dun it," but hoping it goes…
very small amount of progress this week. Wife was sick so I had to hold down the fort with the kids and stuff. I was able to get started on a second pass of detail. I also started another quick, unrelated sculpt of my comic crush Psylocke. Looks super bad right now....probably finish this up sometime this year. Psylocke…
Oooh, so it has finally come to something! I've been following him since years and until now , I've only seen screenshot teases of this project.. But I thought this was a comic book not an aimated series..:O For info people, Lesean worked on the direction of The boondocks series and Black Dynamite. I don't need to tell you…
Looks really awesome! I don't understand what's happening in the one really large egg though. It looks sorta like a strange comic book shadow. I think it would be cool if there was a lot of slim and stuff in there too. Dripping stuff and little streams of oozing slime. You could make a lot of movement with that, and make…
Another old Rhino model. This one was modeled in Silo: I almost sculpted this right. According to Kirkman when I spoke to him a few comic cons ago, it's not ears, just some flesh that sticks out the side of his head. Never went back to fix it though. Think I may come back to some of these and try updating them.
Id like to suggest that you find some inspiration to.... create. Like watch Movies or More T.V, Comics or even Anime to help get some creative ideas flowin if you cant in-vision anything to make. Like if i were to watch or look at anything Sci-Fi i would get ideas to do something artistic involving sci-fi.
I'm guessing since the file name is "monkey_samurai_mudbox.jpg", it's probably sculpted in a program like mudbox also, this is fackin awesome he feels like he needs a comically disproportionate sidekick, like a fat sumo monkey... or maybe a faithful steed that's really just a pig or a boar or something. I don't know. He's…
Skethup has been around for a while now. It's a cool little application... especially for those that are new to 3D and/or don't have higher-end modeling tools. It's been getting pretty popular in the comic book industry. It seems like a bunch of artists are using it to set up compositions and quickly get perspective shots…
