Fleshed out the design of the boots a bit more and added a few secondary details to the clothing. Cloth is always a pain in the ass for me, I'm pretty heavy handed with the dam standard brush, so every piece of fabric I make seems to have the same thickness -___- .... trying to avoid that this time around.
Nice improvements on the hands! As far as stylized cloth goes you can't really go wrong with J.C. Leyendecker. Bunching up blankets/sheets to imitate what is happening in the concept is also a good method for reference. Another thing about cloth is learning some of the more common "patterns" or behaviors that happen in…
Hello people, i just started a fanart of Undertale. I did the body and head on zbrush, everything else in Blender. For the clothing i tried using the cloth physic feature in blender to get a mesh i can then put on zbrush to clean and modify as needed, i believe marvelous designer has a similar workflow? Anyway, any…
Hi Polycount! I would like to share a project I'm working for more than a year. It's software to use the Nvidia Flex framework for 3d work. Like spread objects and simulatie rigid, soft body and cloth. Soon I'll implement tearable cloths. You can get it for free here on cubebrush: http://cbr.sh/i25xwu Here is a small video…
Business Trip A design and rendition of a hotel room occupied for a business trip. - All models were created in 3DS Max. - Cloth layouts used Marvelous Designer and 3DS Max's cloth simulator. - Textures created in Substance Painter and Substance Designer. - Rendered using V-ray. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/oO1nrW
This is a WIP project and I will really appreciate to have criticized about it. The head is a placeholder and the cloth is relatively flat because we will use cloth simulation in Unreal 4. A lot of the tertiary detail will be made in the texture (thanks to Substance Painter). Thank you in advance for your comments. PS : I…
Thanks Lroy. I think that has a lot to do with the forms of her clothes being really baggy. I actually used that image and the sculpt from her prom skin as ref and my proportions are almost exactly the same. I will take a look at the proportions again tonight and hopefully block in the rest of the clothes.
Thanks for the great suggestion, Fenn. Been puzzling over the best way to handle the tunic, with all that loose cloth. I beefed/bunched up the cloth around the belt in back, hopefully along the lines of your suggestion: Also while I'm at it, a head close-up (hair is placeholder, planning to to hair planes):
I really like both of the cloth pieces! I get a great sense of weight because of the values. If I had to nit pick on anything, I feel the second cloth could use more contrast on the inside. The upper arc of the curl could be slightly darker. Overall it looks smooth and very realistic. :)
ref depends on if by Asian you mean goths from Japan or just an Asian girl dressed as a goth. from what i've seen Japanese goths tend to be a bit more over the top and glam rock with anime influence (Harajuku goths for example). just google 'gothic clothing' for plenty of clothing sites.
