That's pretty much what I did. Worked in stages and subdivided up to get a dense mesh to boolean from. This is what the mesh looked like before the booleans. I'm wondering if there's anything I could've done to make the cleanup process easier.
Hi neat works here congrats, Just quickly curious the "tape" mesh, was that by hand/eye "made" or did you do some sort of sim (simulation) on it? I ask cause its very tight & looks neat & was curious if you found a quick solution. Tons of how to's about these types of practices, on surface materials, though i found many to…
Yeah, Google maybe is not very specific and helpful advice but chat GPT sure is. I didn't ask it to explain me vertex based shading personally but did for a lot of real time shader and pixel manipulating techniques and it have been best teacher and best focused and compacted info no nvidua published GPU gems ever been for…
Ok I'm back now, thanks for the response yeah i see what you mean about the procrastination thing most definitely and I think for now I've decided against the online courses as I just don't have the funding available to do any of them :( . I did however find this it popped up this morning and I was skeptical at first but…
c'mon guys, the reason this keeps coming up is because it's as old as art itself. I really think people saying they never experience it are being disingenuous. Here's some advice from Neil Gaiman (because art block and writer's block are the same thing in my opinion): "The other thing that I would say about writer's block…
@AnteArt i understand what you are trying to say. Right now all i'm doing is 3 hours for 3 days for a head. At that point i ll leave that head and move to next one. i get demotivate very fast so ill keep it simple and fast. i guess around my fifth try or so you will recognize the head. i plan to work hard on this project.…
Yes, thanks for asking, I have been working on the Cloth and armor parts. Here you can see the FBX, I'm still making a few tests on textures, but here are a few screenshots of my result so far. Mostly trying to explore what kind of patterns would fit the shapes of the cloths. model I will update textures again in a few…
I recently did a 30 day challenge where I sculpted something for an hour a day based on a concept or photo. Decided to take one to a finish. I have most of the process recorded so planning to share that soon. You can check out the 30 day challenge here: https://www.instagram.com/p/COnLGvVpEhY/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link…
That looks awesome! Two days seems really fast for me, but I'm a slow modeler as well. When the company gave you the test, did they give you any guidelines or did they just say, model a character with armor, and you had to ask what the guidelines were. I hope that makes sense, because I will be doing some tests in a couple…
I dunno. I see that approach. Like here's a bunker that has a gun in it. Scott Homer http://scotthomer.co.uk did that with his first portfolio (which was amazing btw). So I think there's merit in that. More so instead of spreading yourself thin trying this or that. Just focus on what you want to do. If it's current/next…
