Also be mindful of what you keep dumping on the desktop as that normally resides on the C:\ drive also. If you're the type to dump all kinds of temp files and downloads there it might be a good time to break that habit and move it to that kind of stuff to another folder. I think you're safe to stick most of your major apps… -

hi, for a project starting soon, the team would like to stick with a rather old version of 3ds max: 2011. it'll run on new hardware though that by default ships with windows 8.x. however it is an option to obtain windows 7, if required for compatibility. and that's the question, really. autodesk's website references 2013… -

Just to throw this out there but have you looked at the Dell factory outlet or even Dell at all? I know most people hate Dell but to be honest with you I have had nothing but good results from them. I got a top of the line XPS 700 from them about 2 years ago and drop BIG $$$ on it but I had one of the best Direct X 9.0 PCs… -

it's not complicated at all, particularly now that we have automatic input and output creation. stick to standard naming for channels, be consistent with your grouping and you'll never have any problems. our library has thousands of custom nodes in it and I dont think i've ever heard one of the material artists complain… -
