:S sorry... my bad. still have to find a good way to post them images. lets see if this will work http://s1088.photobucket.com/albums/i331/rodrigomaldonado/?action=view¤t=rendersh2.jpg
Was looking at picking this up: - Sandy Bridge i5 2300 (2.8ghz, 3.1ghz boost) - Gigabyte GA-H67A-UD3H - 8GB OCZ DDR3 1333 My current system really dies after about 2-3hrs of Max+Zbrush+Photoshop use at home. The extra memory should help a lot, not to mention the 4 cores.
hey man, you are totally cheating, you cant have my scene as reference and my reference for my scene as reference at the same time! You could cut out the middle man and just have the 1313 stuff, hahaha : D Anyway, i obviously love this style, so I hope you nail it! : D
renderhjs, currently its sitting at 1332 tris. going for ds spec (around 2000 tris total) so will need to optimize when done i would love to see this as a flash game :) indecom, i made a new road texture. i decided to do it all in sort of the style of sega am2's games.
Nice work so far. Workflow reminds me of the recent Zbrush Summit presentation by Red Storm. You might be interested in checking that out if you haven't already: http://youtu.be/gd3-6t59uU0?t=13m31s
cpu: i3 2100 ($125) mobo: ASrock 1155 H67M ($85) ram: 4gb (2x2) ddr3 1333 ripjaw ($45) gpu: nvidia gts 450 1gb ($100) total=$355 For the power supply just browse through neweggs selection that still fits into your budget afterwords and see what has a lot of good reviews.
Tessellation is so wasteful I doubt many games will use it beyond specific cases until a optimized version of it can be found. New shaders and lighting are what this generation are going to be about, not extra geo detail. Lighting and material definition are what make or break things. Look at 1313 demo, no tessellation,…
Than gauss. Much appreciated. ATM ive had to stop working on ratman, and do a high poly character for an assignment. Ive done like 4 so far. Its so hard to define the jaw line on people so that they dont look really fat. P.S - gauss: 2 more posts and your post count will be "1337"
Thanks Pyro, I'll try that. Notman: I don't use linux (yet - not got into it). If all else fails, I'll keep the drive and try it again once I'm 'Linux 1337'. [edit] The drive comes up as 'unreadable' in the disk management panel. I only have 'properties' and 'help' in the right-click menu. I guess it's borked.
