the opposite happened to me, grew up knowing only max and my 1st day back at big sandwich they were like "soooooo you are doing your own level and this project is all maya. go!" took a couple days to find familiar tools but then you just roll with it.

I reckon if you spent more time figuring out bone structure for the cheekbones/higher for the 1st head, it'd be 101 levels of awesome rather than a paultry 100 The metallic segments of the alien head also seem really soft. Eitherway it's sexy work, welcome to the boards :]
Yeah. I didn't see it until that Lost Theories thread. I got the 1st season on DVD and then got my family addicted too. I cannot wait to see Season 2, but I'll likely wait for the DVD, as TV commercials make me wanna murder people.
Sentient: Its the best kept secret of the last decade worth of TV, its truth in a box, the end of the 1st season was like an epiphany for me. 3rd season is my fave but its the most satisfying ending to a show at the end of the 5th ive ever seen. So uh, stick with it ;)
I preferred the 1st one a lot more, this looks too soft and smudgy and the perspective on the face isnt as good in my opinion. Maybe take a few steps back and just worry about putting some more contrast into it. Anyway cool piece, looking foward to seeing more.
some in-game shots from udk. the texture on the gun is just from a quick color bake with AO.. no painting just yet. just wanted to show some 1st and 3d person views. skeleton for udk needs adjusting for hand positions, but that can be dealt with later. here's the shots.
Im trying to work on my portfolio and want to add some weapons. Though its been a while since i modeled any. Do current games still delete back faces in 1st person and do they still make 2nd low res models for enemy guns? Thanks,Chris
What you guys use when you have to paint in 3d? In my list: 1st Zbrush - As you can paint in polys and send to texture later also using zapplink 2nd DeepPaint - Mostly because of its plugin to photoshop, very quickly. 3rd BodyPaint - I didnt get use to it.
