Yes, this is essentially what happens. The content is baked at a much higher bit depth, but converted to 8 bit or 16 bit depending on your file type/settings. With dither on, it will add some random noise to prevent banding/stair stepping artifacts.
It might be related to precision. Cryengine by default only uses 16-bit float precision, which will cause distortion with certain assets. I think there is a way to up it to 32 bit in the newer builds, but not sure. You might check on the Cryengine forums.
Well, the bevels on your highpoly are too tight to bake well, and those artifacts you see might be from using a 8 bit texture, try baking a larger 16 bit normal map, use TIFF if you are using xNormal.
hmm, update. I fixed the order problem, but now it repeats the last picture 8 times. even though its not in the code to do so. lol. so instead of having 8 pictures. i have 16, and the last 8 are repeated.

Hey guys. 1 this kid is 16 who made this and 2 he isn't doing it for subscribers but he feels more motivated with a large audience so that's why he wants subscribers. Most peoples motivation is money. His is support and viewers...
You have to be more precise, no specs at all were mentioned. is it a 720p or 1080p tv?, do you have any latency-expensive modes running on the tv? Is it aspect-correct on both the tv and monitor? (4:3 on 16:10/9)
Utterly opposed to it, except for people under a certain IQ, or all children in Leith between the ages of 11 and 16 who hang around outside Tescos on Poundwise. And people who walk too slowly. And people who watch X Factor.
I've ridden sports bikes since I was 16, and every single accident I had wasn't my fault. It was some silly cunt in a Volvo not paying attention. So, how many times did you hit him yet?
Jack: Try tracing a circle on your tablet, and then you'll notice. I use a 4:3 tablet both at home & at work, but both 16:10 monitors...so Ive gotten used to it. That said, I'll be budgeting for this new tablet anyway.
