Hi! If the goal is making hair for games, I would present the hair in engine/realtime renderer, because that's where it ultimately ends up and has to look good. Surely there exists sample hairshaders one could disect/use.
what hardware are you using? This is the dirtshader realtime shader not the blendlayer preview shader. Gonna check with SDK on monday if they released the correct fx files...
Most of the 3D apps have realtime shaders for previewing in the viewport. Then you have Cryengine, UDK, Unity and a bunch of other mod tools that are available.
