Zephir62: You mean this job and this portfolio? Zephir62... sorry, I mean Matt Olick, enjoy your 5 day break and come back willing to be constructive and helpful. EDIT: Matt, forget the 5-day-ban bullshit. For taunting me through Private Messages you're gone for good. Peace out.
mr. toast: not only does the old guy have a boner, but death is totally staring at it. 5 stars, kill, 5 stars. and i do also enjoy the digital sketchy sketch at the top of this page--it's hard to manage a nice composition with that many 'busy' elements but it's still very eye pleasing. nice work.
When substance designer 5 was announced allegorithmic's said that you should be able to upgrade from 4 > 5 if you had bought the product... I believe after December 2014?! I bought the indy pack on the 12th January and should qualify for the "free" upgrade. Does anyone know how I go about claiming? I did by through steam…
We had no such thing as a art director. We have 5 artists and 5 coders. Will probably need to try harder to get all pieces united next time around. Thanks for the crits guys, will look into it. Hopefully our next project will look better since this was our first 3d game.
It's because of the burnout rate, 50% of the people who enter the game industry drop out after 5 years. I don't know the stats for time past that but I found it funny how EA treats your 5 year anniversary the same way other industries treat your 20th.

Funny thread... When I'm adjusting colors or something and it falls on a 4 or a 6 then I'll do 5. Like 34 or 36 will be 35. But 37 will have to be 38. and 33 has to be 32 or 34. My PS Layers are always increments of 5. Volume settings are always even numbers. I think that's it...
CAD software is becoming more common for hard surface work. I'm seeing some really cool examples of people combining CAD + bevel shader baking (new in Toolbag 5 but also possible in some other apps) as an alternative to the traditional high poly/sub-d workflow. Hello guys! It is a pleasure to finally be part of community of Polycount. I have a problem with texturing bigger objects like walls. Attached picture is an example of final effect i want to reach: -two blended tiled textures, -one horizontal tiled texture on top/bottom, -few decals textures in specific areas. And that all…
We've managed to wrangle Valve in their 'Valve-time' slipstream long enough to catch the names of the 5 Winning entries to the first ever Polycount Pack for Team-Fortress 2. Members of the Polycount Community were given 5 weeks to come up with a SET of items for one of the 9 different TF2 classes. These sets had to be…
