Hello everyone! I decided to duplicate my Tech Talk post here in Marmoset section also just in case. If it's against forum rules feel free to delete it in Technical Talk section. So, sorry for may be lame questions but I'm absolutely new to this PBR concept and quite scared of doing things the way I shouldn't. So this is…
Lovely work dude, I'm loving the direction this bad boy is heading. Currently the scene has some depth created by the silhouetted foreground, mid ground and the foggy background. Something that would improve this effect would be to lighten up the mid-ground so its a little bit more of an average luminance between the fore…
Hi everyone! This is my first post here and I've been playing with game modelling for a year now and have just finished the first part of this little project. For those unfamiliar with the game, in Team Fortress 2 there is a gamemode called Payload where the Blu team must escort a bomb-cart trhough the enemy base and…
Thanks for all the c&c, I fixed up the tank based on the feedback I got. I was working on the cart and I've run outta time, so maybe ill go back and finish it some other time. I got the wheel parts done, I broke the wheel down into 1/8's and then put it together from there. Don't think that was the best route to take…
The sales charts say everything except the kevlar+helmet, deagle, M4 and AK is getting cheaper. I don't think it's fair to include items like the body armor into the charts since they don't compete for a weapon slot.
Doubt there are any mobos that support x2 5000, but dont have PCI-E. Get the extra 2GB of ram, should run you $50 or so. Then upgrade that videocard, for about $80-90 you can get a 9600 GT http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&Description=9600%20gt&bop=And&ActiveSearchResult=True&Order=RATING $100-120…
Thanks as always @carvuliero, I've implemented your feedback. Also, I appreciate those posture charts. Since I'm making this character to be rigged with an existing skeleton I don't have a lot of room to move in that department but the charts are really helpful for understanding references.
Thanks guys ! So many things to improve on, and so little time #_# Bring it on !! Question: So, this chart is not the new PBR then ? (Roughness + Metalness). Since Metalness is grayscale, but this chart has Reflectivity with color. This means I have to use Spec + Gloss for this reflective material ?
Oh yeah the Macbeth chart is good for photo ref I agree macbeth chart is hardly used but I think it is good to know about it. Also you can still have painted textures work with PBR. Think Frozen or Pixar movies.
The lux shader is based off the work of Dontnod entertainment. Here is a post from the tech artist who helped create that shader model of the specular chart that explains what settings to use for different materials: http://seblagarde.wordpress.com/2012/04/30/dontnod-specular-and-glossiness-chart/
