Are those extra bones included on the Skin modifier of your character? Just deleting them on the scene without adjusting the Skin modifier might give you problems!
That was just the wind xgen modifier + colliders. But the right way to get a believable simulation is dynamic nhair curves for the guides (or animguide modifier) and xgen colliders for the single fibers.
well, if you pot an epoly modifier on top of it and afterwards remove a segment from the spline, the epoly modifier could loose its affect, as the vertex ids change.
Max unwrap is not like Maya/Modo/etc. It is a stack dependant modifier. It is a long running request by users to have it as a mode, like Maya, rather than a modifier.
