I would just need someone to yell at me and tell me when to get off of my ass and practice. :< Or WHAT to practice. I think we need a big-brother session. :x
This months character was pretty complex, and as far as I understand it the character modeling thread is about variety and practicing different styles. It seems to me this character will also be good for practicing hand painted texturing.
Well I live in the Dallas area and I've had some great opportunities to see how guys like raul and Brett Brilley do things. But besides that.... practice? Lots of time and practice.
For a dumpster? For all texture layers of a dumpster? No they don't. And don't use that as an excuse. If you want to practice, practice using realistic texture sizes and non of this high-res malarkey. That will teach you nothing.

@JoshuaG Yeah, I figured that. I modeled it since it looked like a challenge and I feel it's good practice for modeling. Not really the most efficient method professionally, but it's for practice. I'll be downscaling the underside a lot for the lp.

Keep going!, practice and practice more. Think about what you are doing, try to find out what is wrong and then try to find a way to solve it. You'll get better. Great sketchbook btw :D
