OK, so I went and started Zbrush again to export a 32bit displacement map but the only format I can choose is TIF and in photoshop you can only save the 32bit file as TIF, PSD, PBM and RAW.
Inkling seems more like a gimmick than an art tool. The new Intuos4 with the felt tips I've heard has a better surface feel, it's apparently got a bit of texture to it, although it eats the tips much faster as a result.
Cool advert, Bruce Lee might not have thought so though. [vv]69868746[/vv] Tim Sweeney, Graphics will be "indistinguishable from reality" within 10 years. http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2013-07-11-epics-tim-sweeney-on-the-problem-with-photo-realism
Thanks for the feedback. Here's an updated render. I remodeled the blade because the way I had it before was kinda messed up around the tip which made it difficult to smooth out. Anyway, the blade tip on this one is much better than my previous renders.
Blender does have referencing. It's done by linking libraries into your work scene, with a "library" being another .blend file(s). Read tip #11: http://www.creativebloq.com/13-blender-tips-pros-7113110 https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/dev/data_system/linked_libraries.html
I use tif because it supports 16 bits per channel, and you should too. If the alpha channel bothers you, you can get rid of it in Photoshop or whatever, but tif supports an alpha channel that's not transparency so you don't really need to do that.
I am in Dublin/Pleasanton, CA now. I will be here til Friday and have class every day til 5(ish). If you want to contact me, just send me a PM through the boards and I will hit you with my cell number.
Was quite literally ready to order one til I noticed the "Mac only software currently", and a OS version I don't yet have, so I'll wait til they get their act together and publish support for the dominant OS.
9 hours to go til the 10 pm showing at Drafthouse for me.. On another note, a tad disappointed that Legendary didn't attach even a teaser trailer for the new Godzilla to it, but they might be waiting til Comic Con to show anything from that.
Oops I was wrong, the thread I recalled had nothing to do with Gwot, but everything to do with great tips... modeling hi poly weapons is painful, any tips? (found this today while rummaging in my saved-threads library)
