iirc fbxexport doesn't work properly and I ended up using file.exportselected http://help.autodesk.com/cloudhelp/2016/CHS/Maya-Tech-Docs/Commands/file.html#flagexportSelected That will pick up your current fbx export settings and use them so as long as they're good you'll get the results you want.
These days you can get very reasonably priced IPS monitors, so really there is no reason to buy a TN panel. If you're on a tight budget but want a 27", consider something like this Benq: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824014383&ignorebbr=1&cm_re=27"_ips-_-24-014-383-_-Product
Udim are quite essential, if you want to have loads of resolution on a single mesh you can't just have 1 tile with a 100k map, ( actually you can't go over 16k anyway ) You're mixing its use in game asset and film/vfx asset edit : woh june 2016... al'right then
Don't panic. This was just test how many icons can I fill the top bar if I remove the info center. I used soulburnscripts - (really good stuff) as placeholders. Cool. I remember that I had instant crashing with 3.0 alpha in 2014-2016 so I sticked with 2.0
Been looking back at my work from 2016 and realized my posing is kinda shit. So I'm gonna start practicing some more extreme poses. I plan on doing 3 male and 3 female. Here is my first model with a focus on the arms. (keep in mind I'm not taking these to completion.)
Maya LT 2016 has had an increased limit on export size, i think it's around 200k tri's now. If that helps you out at all. If that's still to low the only way i've found to get larger items out of Maya LT is to export them in chunks below the export cap. Hope that helps.
Damn, cannot test it, 2016 crashes on startup with it and and I don't have a lower version :/ Could you be bothered to attach a mesh like that in the picture? I tried replicating it (with the sharp bends) but I'm probably still missing some details that would make the lerp method spit out something like that. Thanks in…
Ah I see good question- if they are separate pieces we'd they'd be uploaded separately. If the pieces are interlocking- (IE like a chain) you can have up to 6 parts in bronze, brass and silver https://www.shapeways.com/presscorner/press-release/2016-08-25-shapeways-launches-interlocking-metals-for-3d-printing
latest files (same features) should now run in 3dsmax 2008 - 2016. Lowered the price a lot, as I no longer actively develop the plugin ("provided as is", use the demo to check if it suits your needs). Contacted developers from blender, and partially open-sourced the plugin under GPL so that it can get integrated there.
You can use the Smoothing Groups tools to manage surface shading. F1(Max Docs should be your first port of call for the basics) https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/3ds-max/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2016/ENU/3DSMax/files/GUID-1244162D-A063-486C-BD9B-168466F6488B-htm.html
