Blossom character project
Hey guys, just done some blocking out in Dynamesh and ended up with some low level details blocked in, I would love some feedback on how you feel about the proportions and crease placement or anything that's on your mind about what you see. Also any tips on creating crisp creases would be a plus, thanks -

I've not tried hardmesh but I tested out smoothboolean. I think depending on the shape it's pretty awesome stuff and would use it over bool/dynamesh/polish. You still have to be pretty methodical about how to construct the boolean. but it's all iterative and proceedural. As long as I don't need good geometry it's pretty… -

You could benefit by zremeshing the sculpt and reprojecting in a few subdivs if it's dynameshed. Especially recomended for faces. That's one of beaties of ZB, even at this stage of things you can often fairly painlessly step back and forth and make changes broad or subtle. So if you wanted to work on the face at various… -

That's one way to do it. If you're comfortable using dynamesh and zremesher in zbrush, you can skip the maya base mesh stage if you like. Be prepared to get into how Zbrush deals with scale if you go that route though. You'll want to get familiar with the scale master plugin in Zbrush if you're starting your models in it. -

Before attempting to add detail, really focus on the basic shape, to get the right shape use move/standard/clay brushes. The hands and feet are too small and the head is too square shaped, don't be afraid of making big changes to the silhouette. I'd use dynamesh until your happy with the shape then start adding details. -

Thanks for the reply guys! I'm thinking about keeping the clothes separate from the main body just for ease of rigging. Find it easier to rig up a naked body and then bind and copy skin weights :) . Also, I honestly have never played around with dynamesh yet. Guess I should rewatch some tutorials! -

I've been tweaking the body to try and make it more reasonable as well as fixing that cheekbone, thanks @carvuliero. Some detail was lost when switching to multiple subdivisions rather than dynamesh but that's made it a lot easier to tweak the form. @cjpeg like i said, i am not a modo user, but i think features like MeshFusion attracts people, with traditional modeling, making some complex shapes can be cumborsome sometimes. Watch a short video about meshfusion. It is really cool. Also zbrush’s dynamesh feature can help with that complex shapes and boolean operations. -

@Chimp ho Zbrush, I often say to myself " dude don't take Zbrush for granted " Zbrush is unique both technologically and ergonomically , It's algorithm pure beauty , the Creasing workflow, Zremesher, Dynamesh, Decimation to name a few . If it wasn't for Zbrush to exist I don't know how ArtStation would look like now lol -

Hmm Sasquatch's right arm seems to be shorter than his left. This also seems to be the case with the reference but is it really supposed to be so? Your models are pretty accurate so maybe you copied it without realizing? Other than that, good job. May I ask how you model these hair strands? Move tool and dynamesh?
