I'm trying to launch a export selection dialog box, but I'd like to grab my selected objects name and store that in a variable and then have that auto pasted when the dialog appears. I can't find this in the docs, is it possible. This is what I have so far, all the options are set, but I also want to set a name so the user…
Hello all, I was wondering what the best free software and file format to use for editing 3D scans for export to a 3d Printer. I have a Miraco Revopoint Scanner and I have Autodesk Fusion, Meshmixer, and Blender. But I would like to focus my learning curve on one software because learning all of them at the same time is…
One of the issues of having a really streamlined pipeline at work is that it sucks to go home and not have any of that stuff :( So I spent today writing a "Light" version of the Exportsets script that MoP wrote at work. It's fairly simple but does provide all the functionality. So what is this, what does it do? * No more…
never happened to me,- though my suggestion would be: select the objects you want to export, then shift+drag copy them and then finally export that copy. Delete the copy objects from your scene and continue with whatever. At least I write my exporters in a way that they create a temporary snapshot mesh of the model I want…
you might find that your publish settings need adjusting - i haven't generated an sbsar by hand in years (all automated now) but i vaguely remember there being specific things you needed to fill in to get it to export at a fixed size. it'll be in the docs somewhere

Low poly and High poly shaded wireframe UVs in Rizom I think not all the UV seams are marked as hard edges. After exporting the mesh to rizom for UVs then importing back into blender i can't see where I placed the hard edges.
I see what you were going for with the green material and the grip, it looks pretty weird on the reference image as well so I understand why it was tough to do in 3d  I think most of your geo is good (not that I'm an expert or anything) but some areas could use some optimization, unless the ridges on the inside of…
Hey @FourtyNights thanks for taking the time to answer my question. I think I need to elaborate a bit further exactly what I plan to do. What I currently am doing is researching into possibilities to write a ZBrush->Marmoset pipeline plugin for ZBrush. Unfortunately ZBrush only allows to export .OBJS (like you pointed out…
That's really cool, as being able to edit things non-linearly that way is a real superpower. This reminds me a bit of how FAOGen is still useful after all these years. As far as I am concerned I am satisfied with doing UV rearrangement/combining using the default Blender baking tool since it does UV channel transfer very…
