If you wanted to make it to be more readable apart from all the grime and darkness detailing (over on my end anyway) i'd try to study some , Targeted placement for these grime/darks and damage/details. don't quote me on this, but I think Hair and Fur guides have a very limited number of vertices. It's like a spline with 10 or 11 vertices (don't know how much actually) so You won't be able to get these crazy curly results using only guides. I think You should try a different approach here.
