I read that the other day, best of luck with your new studio! Some pretty lame comments from the Kotaku crowd, I'm sure they all turn around best selling AAA titles in there sleep :P
Hi madN0RMan, what are the requirements for the character artist position you have available now? I think i am a good candidate for a position if that does not require years and years of experience and several AAA titles released.
Hi, I´m looking for freelance, I have 4 years of experience into games and have participated in several AAA projects. Please, take a look at my portfolio: www.hugobeyer.com My contact email: speak (at) hugobeyer (dot) com Curitiba - Brazil
Thanks for the responses. BTW, I am a Recruiter working with AAA studios around the Pacific NorthWest (US) region. I'm hoping to expand my reach to people who are interested in having a career in gaming (art, design, & dev).
Another successful collaboration! I love the opportunity to work on high fidelity VR assets. If you or your team are interested in AAA quality asset, textures, or environments, DM or email me at cptalbatross@gmail.com and let's get to working!
wow, something new! :D Was just disappointed that they only showed all this sequels. Would have loved to see something new. Maybe nintendo will show some real new AAA games, where they launch a new console.
I went from self-taught for a year to first-party AAA-development. If you work hard enough on your art, befriend the right people ie networking. People will notice you and will want to help you get in.
I can't be too specific unfortunately but at this point, pretty much every AAA studio has either a bunch of SD/SP licenses or at least a will to evaluate. Publisher wise, the biggest Substance users are Sony, Activision, Ubisoft and Capcom.
The West rarely takes risk visually when it comes to AAA or AA games. Seeing big studios coming up with stuff like this is a sour dream. I mean there's still the indies but they're mostly limited to full 2D...
hrm....I was kinda feeling games have come a little further in the last 10 years regarding voiceover talent and AAA quality releases. :) (but who knows...maybe that's what Square thinks is 'kewl' now for their target audience?)
