I came across this overpaint by artquest, i liked it so much that i had to try it. Didn't nail the character it has in the concept, should have made the jaw longer to make the upper skull smaller. But the result is better than what i expected.
nice rhyno. i would saw off his horn and then add a necklace of skulls. the arrows on the back are a good touch. i would change the shape of the legs, from the side he looks to straight. i would make his legs curve slightly.
Marowak with its skull is an excellent choice for zbrush. Can't wait to see the sculpt. I'd suggest exaggerating the big end of the bone. It's not in the original design and might not be what you're going for, but I think it'd make it look much more lethal. Keep it up!
[ QUOTE ] Another thing that sort of bugs me about the cowboy, is why does he have one scrawny arm, and one beefy arm? [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] another concept of the cowboy has an alien skull as a shoulder pad for his robotic arm. [/ QUOTE ]
UPDATE: New props: - Skull on the table. - Test tubes and liquid vases. - Set of candles. Few tweaks to the lighting of the environment. THINGS I WANT TO CHANGE (SUGGESTIONS ARE WELCOME) - Liquid inside the test tubes and vases don't look good to me. - Glass reflections.
Pirate (too pleasant for a pirate...maybe a rocker) sketch I did as a live demo for a recent art event called Live Painting Sessions. Maybe he needs an eye patch and some skull and bones tattoo to push the pirate idea further...arrrrr. :)
You lack the fundamental knowledge about the skull shape/proportions, muscles placement. You did quite a good job, because some likeness is there, but it would benefit from having the correct underlying structure. Study the planar shapes of the head, that will help you out.
more stabby stabs. still having fun with these, and learning to be more liberal with my colors. Still, i couldn't make a proper decision with the skull like thing on the right most sword, which definitely shows...something about the colors just doesn't work... :/
More progress: Engine Blockout - I'm going for the short lived Warboys flavor of the interceptor. Iconic Scott Injector Hat with the double blowers underneath. Decorative skull. Aegean - I'm using 3dsMax, haven't touched Modo indie. What do you think of it?
Great start man, try to stay as low as possible to really try and get those major plane shifts down before adding too much detail. Also note that the sternocleidomastoid has a bit more stretch from the skull to the clavicle. Keep it up!
