Zbrush literally deleted my project file. Is there any hope to recover?
I went to file > open > double clicked on my file. Then the file disappeared and the name went into the open file dialog box. I have no clue what happened but was wondering if someone knows where my file could be. I have no windows recovery option for that date. I searched my whole HDD for the file name, and only came up… -

isnt the layer name, one of the inputs of any object in a layer? should be able to see it right in the channel box? if that isnt enough i could make you a little bit of python that finds and selects the layer of the selected object or prints the name. off the top of my head here is the code to have have the layer name… -

in my experience the DS rendered in tris and quads so splitting an 8 sided shape up into 3 quads was much better than letting the converter do it, in my experience letting a machine make decisions like this never gives you optimal meshes, that said it would be very little difference in this case. doh were talking PSP sorry… -
