This is looking great Daz, really fine work. Scott, thanks for the equipment pics, I have been playing around with a high poly Waffen SS trooper in fall camo and this will help immensely on the equipment. One thing Scott, the link to the 7.92x54mm Mauser ammunition pic doesn't work (goes to a 404). Great thread!
The Pacific is covered with a system of monitoring bouys for tsunamis. The Indian Ocean, does not have such a system in place. Donated here: http://s1.amazon.com/exec/varzea/ts/my-pay-page/PX3BEL97U9A4I/103-0050417-1091045 Not a lot, but every littlebit helps. may top 3 Million by close of business today. Scott
Yeah but at $400 a lot of people will. This is cheaper than what I was expecting too($500-1000). At this price point they should sell a lot, and with the very limited features and design, they leave the door open for an enthusiast version, and a pro version which could be sold at significantly higher prices.
be sure to give K-fed and Paul a nice round of ass slappin when ya get there! -Its sure to be wild n crazy time! hopefully you can help make the 303 a flourishing hub for game dev activity. ND and Idol are cool, but it needs MOAR!!
Hey hows everyone doing, I am creating a XV88 set in the world of war hammer 40k. Part of the tau race. I plan on using this model along with my chaos marine model to put to together some still images to boost my portfolio. Please let me know what you think of the early stages of the XV88
Hi, making some props for a friend's game and I'm new to crunchin' the polys. The poly limits for each item was 200-femur, 400-axe, and 210-doll so I managed to meet the restrictions for each model, but it was kind of tough. Any advice on cutting corners or some mistakes I made would be nice, thanks.
Thanks for the constructive critiques, I looked for a flat 2D look (now I think I was more influenced by Warhammer 40k artwork than Star Wars...), anyway I understand the points. Next project I'll focus on materials and photorealism of a little prop, so I should have the chance to show some progress on that points :)
GeoDav over at the UDK forums noted that my wear and tear on the assets look like bullet holes, id like to make sure everyone knows im aiming for a more 40k vibe, im not looking to add fantasy warhammer damage such as melee weapon / magic damage, these are meant to look like hefty bolter bullets or similar! =]
Hi Eric, yes i need to import some objects for lightmaps and there is a gigantic object that i dont need all the time. It takes like 15-20 min to load in max and everytime i need to LM an object i need to reimport everything....thats so time consuming. 350-400 MB fbx file.
yeah it looks like a toy, theirs just something about the material applied to it and the ground texture that makes it seem like a Warhammer 40k play piece. You could really play on that if you wanted to, by adding some depth of field or vignette, make the viewer really feel like their getting up close to the piece
