I think 3ds max would be better at this job. You can save a lot of work if you are doing only a few bricks and parts in zbrush, using the same parts and normal map texture again and again. Besides that, the tower looks much to roundish, but good. Build a few different bricks, more accurate one, and re import and align them… -

Great, that makes sense. Thanks for all the info. It seems that X Normal AO blurs or darkens the cavities more as I haven't had this problem when using it. If I want to continue to just use Max, then is there a way to get a cavity map? Or is there another way people overcome this issue when just using Max? I know I could… -

Yeah, we do it all in max. People work on different sections of a map, and replace dummy or temp objects in the real map. -
3ds max Ornatrix to UE5 carpet problem

The whole situation is a bit of a mess. First off, most 3d apps/normal map bakers use slightly different math (bi-normals and tangents), so if you try to take a normal map baked in maya and render it in max (or vice versa) you'll get errors. Try using the Cutout Map instead of Transparency Map, on Physical Material. But really it doesn’t matter in Max. Take it to the game engine and make sure you don’t have sorting issues there. -
