Oh no you did it again, another awesome ugly monster! :D I really want to see his body now! I imagine him having a small fish like body, with some tiny fins ;)
WIP Hi world, this is my Yakuza artwork, which I developed during my participation in the ArtStation challenge "Neo Tokyo: Exponential Reality" in the Film/VFX Character Art category (rendered). I'll be trying to join this month with a backslot for Brewmastah. I've had this idea for sometime now, a Hibashi for him to go with his drink. Here is the sketch and block out. Maybe throw a fish on the grill?
@NikhilR - Thanks! I love playing with lighting contrasts. @Avenger84 - handpainted textures are so much fun, definitely worth practicing! A rather concerned looking fish got his texture today...

http://www.thegamedevcast.com/episode-13-blizzard-mattrick-and-a-dead-fish/ new episode :) also, new indie game of the week: http://www.thegamedevcast.com/indie-game-of-the-week-08-05-2013/ enjoy :)
wow! geat work! really nice art style and mood. BTW the stairs to the river seems very natural to me, I would sit on that patio all day and maybe fish or swim a bit once in a while :D .
Don't think of your portfolio as a finished product. You need to keep producing new art and constantly flush out the old stuff with new. If the fish aren't biting, it's time to try some new bait. Good luck!
Maybe it's just me, but from here the texture on those tanks reads more like oxidized copper than algae covered tanks. Might wanna grab some ref of algae on fish tanks and take a second pass at it.
From the hobby perspective: Sure, some people have a hobby racing cars, which can easily get into the hundreds of thousands. But other hobbies, like fishing, can be dirt cheap. Comparing hobbies to values is not an even comparison.
