Needles: I think they have found a way to make the Red and Green colors last quite a while (I think around 40k hours), but the blue is where the problem still is (I think around 12k hours).

in the same boat as you chris, hoping to pick up a dx11 card this week as my current gpu is locking up if i have it on for too long. hoping the prices on the 400/500 series cards drop soon ;)
One last thing: that 480 is like ~1 year old and cost what, $400? That's still a very good card. You don't have to spend $500 every year on a new GPU to work in game dev.
I was there on Day 1...and it was great for 400 hours, but then reality set in, I took a break, went back for a few months for Cataclysm...then left for good...with GW2, I'll never look back. You can have the Panda's.
@lotet Almost a whooping 40k tris atm. I still can and will clean up some pieces, though. I bet I can cut 1-2 thousands tris from the shoulder and the hip pieces .
I a decent diffused Ring flash is the best idea for taking any texture shots. I got a hdd with around 40k textures now that I've collected over 5+ years mostly with my own camera.

This will be an Old Abandoned Gas Station. with a Diffuse, Spec and Normal map + AO. The texture size is a 1k The pumps already dissapeared. This Station can only have 400 ~ 500 polys. so I tried to give it as much detail as possible. (Normal map will do the rest).:) Critique welcome:)
