Hey Tiros, if you want someone to go over the site and do a general copy edit on it to check the grammar - I'll be glad to give it a shot. Or, at the very least, pass it off to my mom who is a copy editor. :-)
I'm not entirely sure if you're suggesting to attempt to salvage a project by appending the contents of a file that can't be opened? Sometimes it works, but when the RNA structure of the file is broken it'll likely fail and there's pretty much nothing you can do to salvage it other than relying on different backups. I have…
Well I think, but am not sure, that you can copy paste the material nodes stuff into text and then paste back in the other PC material window. But that's a lot of hassle when you can save the package and copy it.
^ This. You move/save your file into the public folder in your dropbox, right click it, choose copy public link, paste the link and you're done. No messy FTP or upload procedures. Just copy, click, done.

You can copy a games ideas and general gameplay loop, but you're not allowed to use ripped copies of their art, sound, or code. Even fan games (other then Sonic) tend to get taken down via DMCA notices.
dropbox! Copy file to dropbox/public folder > Right click file > copy public link > Paste link. 2gb of free space, holds any kind of file, syncs between any PC, its pretty awesome.
Yes, in theory, instancing an object and then UV mapping it might work, but why not just model and UV it, then simply make a few copies? A copy of a UV mapped object in any 3D program I know of will retain UVs and materials.
Sorry to resurrect this thread but a free copy of XCOM: Enemy Unknown will be given out to anybody that votes in this year's golden joystick awards which can be found here. Copies will be sent out through e-mail on October 23rd.
I've purchased a legit copy of an older version of Photoshop (manuals and registration stuff and everything), collectibles, copies of my own out of print books (some have gone to collectors level pricing already) and things to give as gifts.
